SEO, PPC, and Conversion

Half the battle of internet marketing is getting people to your site. The other half – the bigger half – is converting site visitors to paying customers.  

Well-crafted Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay-per-click (PPC) paid ads will effectively drive people to your site. In this workshop, we’ll cover the essentials of what you need to know about PPC and SEO, but more importantly, once visitors land on your site, what converts them to customers?

We’ll go into identifying the things that are proven to be persuasive and powerful for building confidence and trust in your company, the driving factors behind conversion. And, if people are just ‘looking,’ what kinds of things will compel them to bookmark your site and come back when they are ready to buy? We’ll cover that too. 

What is SEO? 

We have a mantra here at SurpHaces. We say, “Don’t just be on the web… be all over the web and be where customers are looking.” Search Engine Optimization, aka SEO, is a litany of things done on your website and on the web, to make your website visible across the web and to tell search engines what your site is about so it will come up strong on search engine results pages (SERPs). Long gone are the days where you enter a bunch of keywords into a meta keyword tag on a site. SEO today is complex and sophisticated. But now even if you have strong dominance on organic placement on SERPs you will be taking a back seat to paid ads. 

Paid Ads (PPC)

Even if you are strong on organic placement you’re going to fall ‘below the fold' on Google. In other words, users have to scroll down the page to see your free (organic) listing. Not that searchers won’t do that, but you need to be aware and make informed decisions about how important it is to appear as close to the top as possible. Pay-per-click advertising (PPC) gets you to the top, but it costs you. That cost is probably very justified, though. In this course we'll explore your options.

You can log into your student dashboard to download course resources, and take the course review quiz. After you take the review quiz you will be able to print your certificate of completion. Once you are registered to any of the workshops in this series you will have access to the Essential Marketing Community.
